Patchogue Arts Council Presents "Fowl Follies: Works of Goya" by Jessica McAvoy

The Patchogue Arts Council presents recent drawings by Jessica McAvoy at the Lobby Art Gallery at the Patchogue Theater for the Performing Arts, 71 East Main Street, Patchogue.
"Fowl Follies: Works of Goya" will be on display from May 21 - June 30, 2010. An artist's reception will be held June 28, 6:30 – 8:30pm.
Jessica McAvoy is an emerging artist who lives and works on Long Island. This exhibition displays a collection of bold charcoal drawings that reveals the artist’s interest in an expressive approach to form and space. Her compositions make direct reference to paintings by Spanish artist, Francisco Goya, although she alters the imagery by introducing the form of the rooster. The portrayal of fowl in these dark emotive drawings conveys an absurdity that speaks to McAvoy’s sensibility.
